This past Saturday, the Maryville Crisis Nursery hosted its fifth annual Trunk or Treat event, bringing 36 families together for an afternoon of fall fun and community connection. The celebration featured games, face painting, pumpkin decorating, snacks, arts and crafts, and plenty of candy.

For the second year, families also enjoyed a petting zoo, which proved to be a big hit among the children. Many returning families attended this year’s event, including one child who shared that Trunk or Treat is his and his younger brother’s favorite activity of the year.

“It’s great to see all the families interacting with their children because a lot of times we’ll see the parent and then we’ll see the kids,” said Program Supervisor Lily Tanner. “It’s really nice to see them coming out together.”

Families and staff from the Maryville Academy Mother’s Recovery Home Network joined in the festivities, along with children and staff from Saint Catherine of Siena and the Children’s Healthcare Center. The event once again highlighted the strong sense of community and support that surrounds the Crisis Nursery and Maryville’s mission.

Thank you to our 13 volunteers and Maryville and Maryville Crisis Nursery staff for a successful event.
