Maryville, Chicago Police partner for ‘Stuff the Squad’ drive to support Maryville Crisis Nursery

In recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month this April, Maryville Academy is partnering with the Chicago Police Department to host “Stuff the Squad,” a monthlong donation drive supporting the Maryville Crisis Nursery. The initiative invites the community to help provide essential, day-to-day items for children ages 0 to 6 and the families who rely on the Nursery’s care and support.
From April 1 through April 30, community members are encouraged to donate new items at their local police district. The drive focuses on basic, high-need supplies that help ensure children have a safe, clean and nurturing environment during times of crisis. Requested items include unscented diaper wipes, newborn-size diapers, gentle detergent and dryer sheets, children’s toothbrushes and grip socks. Due to safety and storage requirements, baby formula cannot be accepted.
“Stuff the Squad” reflects a shared commitment between Maryville and local law enforcement to protect children and strengthen families. By making it easy for residents to drop off donations within their own neighborhoods, the campaign creates a direct and meaningful way for the community to get involved and make a difference.
Donations collected through the drive will directly benefit the Maryville Crisis Nursery, which provides short-term care for young children while supporting parents and caregivers during times of stress. These everyday essentials help ease immediate burdens for families while reinforcing a sense of dignity and stability.
Those interested in participating can bring donations to their local police district throughout April. For more information about the Maryville Crisis Nursery, or to learn how to get involved, visit Maryville Academy’s website or contact the program at [email protected] or 773-205-3637.
