Maryville Crisis Nursery to host fall luncheon Oct. 14

Maryville Academy’s Crisis Nursery will hold its annual Fall Luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at the North Shore Country Club, 1340 Glenview Road, Glenview. The reception begins at 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch and a program from noon to 1:30 p.m.

“The Maryville Crisis Nursery Annual Fall Luncheon is more than just a gathering. It is a celebration of community, compassion and the shared commitment to ensuring every child and family has the support they need in times of crisis,” said Program Director Tricia Fitzgerald. “Together, we create a safety net of hope.”

Proceeds from the luncheon will benefit the Maryville Crisis Nursery, a vital and innovative program that provides free, short-term care for children, birth to age 6, whose parents are experiencing a crisis.

Guests at the luncheon are invited to help “fill the crib” with wish list items. The list and registration information can be found at https://bit.ly/CNFallLuncheon.

The Crisis Nursery protects children from abuse, neglect or trauma by offering safe, around-the-clock care for up to 72 hours per stay. Issues that bring families to the nursery often include unemployment, parental illness or hospitalization, poverty or homelessness.

Earlier this year, the Crisis Nursery expanded its services through a partnership with The Cradle, a respected Evanston-based child welfare agency with more than 100 years of history. Since then, infants have received care from nursery staff while The Cradle has provided adoption services, creating a stronger safety net for vulnerable families.
