Featured Mission Updates
The Charles H. Walsh Sr. Academy & Career Tech High School

Walsh Academy may be the first high school in the nation to provide a comprehensive academic program tailored to students with special learning differences—integrated with hands-on training in different trades. Housed in a newly renovated 52,000-square-foot facility, the school includes eight cutting-edge vocational classrooms designed to bridge the gap between education and real-world careers.
Walsh Academy was honored as one of only 64 national quarterfinalists for the Yass Prize STOP Award, which recognizes schools that embody the principles of Sustainable, Transformational, Outstanding and Permissionless education—a true testament to Maryville’s bold innovation. It has also been named a NASET School of Excellence for the 12th consecutive year. This prestigious recognition from the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) highlights our continued commitment to providing exceptional education and support for students with special needs.
Maryville Academy Mother’s Recovery Home Network

The Maryville Academy Mother’s Recovery Home Network is gaining national recognition for its family-centered approach to addiction recovery. Unlike traditional models, this innovative program allows mothers and their children to live together during recovery—strengthening bonds while promoting long-term healing and stability.
This groundbreaking model was recently featured at the 2025 Child Welfare League of America Conference in Washington, D.C. when two of our staff members presented a workshop on “Building Families First Recovery Home Network Model.” It is being explored as a replicable solution for recovery services nationwide.
No matter where life has taken you, you are always part of the Maryville family. This June 26, we invite you to Come Home to Maryville—virtually. Join us via livestream for an inspiring look at how your support is helping us lead with compassion, innovation and impact.
This special event is created just for our out-of-state alumni and donors. You will hear updates on transformative programs like Walsh Academy and the Recovery Home Network, and see how Maryville continues to grow, guided by the same mission and values that first brought us together. Wherever you are, we hope you will “come home” and celebrate what we are building—together.
