Q: How old does my child need to be in order to use the Crisis Nursery?
A: The Maryville Crisis Nursery serves children from newborn through age six.
Q: How long can my child stay at the Crisis Nursery?
A: Children can stay from 24 to up to 72 hours in one stay. Families may use the nursery for up to 30 days in a year.
Q: What is considered a crisis?
A: For every family a crisis is defined differently and often times the Maryville Crisis Nursery is used to help avoid a potential crisis. Some reasons our families use the Nursery include medical emergencies, parental stress, mental health issues, substance abuse, domestic violence, employment or school issues, and homelessness.
Q: Who will be caring for my child?
A: Trained professional childcare workers who are experienced in caring for children from newborn to six years will be with your child. Rest assured, your child’s safety and welfare are their primary concern.
Q: Will I be able to contact my child while in your care?
A: Of course! We will encourage you to stay in contact by phone or personal visits while your child is at the Crisis Nursery.
