Generation upon generation of our children has passed through our doors and left to lead their adult lives. Since St. Mary’s Training School for Boys was founded not long after the Chicago Fire, precious children who could no longer stay at home found a home with us. This year, we will be celebrating everyone who has made Maryville a success story that just keeps being told. We will post occasional photos to update this anniversary year to let our supporters and staff see what is going on at our five sites. Some of those children, now gray with age, return to help celebrate with us. And many of our tremendous supporters attend various events to witness the fruit of their generosity. None of this success is possible without the devoted service of our hard-working staff, as seen in many of these photos. Thank you for your dedication over our first 130 years.
Banners commemorating our 130 year anniversary can now be seen down LaSalle Street, between Adams and Washington, (above) in downtown Chicago. There are also banners outside of the Maryville Madden Shelter on Grand Avenue and the Center for Children on Irving Park Road.
