Maryville Guardian Medallion Award Gala - March 6, 2010

Thank you to all who made the Maryville Gala a success, including sponsors, volunteers and staff. Special thanks to State Representative Joseph Lyons and the Eisenberg Foundation, this year's award winners. McCaskey Luncheon - April 6, 2010
This year's Ed Block Courage Award winner was Israel Idonije. We would like to say thank you to Israel, the Chicago Bears players and staff, Outback Steakhouse, the McCaskey Family, Maryville staff and volunteers and all those who helped to make this event a success. Israel's personal foundation was featured in Crain's Chicago Business on August 30, 2010.
 

Parent Resource Fair - April 24, 2010

Merrimac Park in Chicago welcomed the 4th Annual Parent Resource Fair. More than 20 organizations participated in the free event. Special appearances were made by the Chicago Police Mounted Unit and Canine Unit. Old Navy donated gift cards and a bicycle that were raffled off over the course of the day. We would like to say thank you to the 16th District Police Department, Old Navy, Merrimac Park and Maryville staff and volunteers.
 

Crisis Nursery Tea and Fashion Show  - May 6, 2010

On Thursday, May 6th, The Friends of the Crisis Nursery hosted the 5th annual "Shower of Hope" Fashion Show and Tea at Sunset Ridge Country Club in Northfield.   Mike Leonard, feature correspondent for NBC Today, was the guest host for the event, which included a luncheon, marketplace shopping, and a fashion show presented by neapolitan boutique in Winnetka.  More than 220 guests attended, many of whom also brought gifts of diapers and baby formula.  We thank the Friends of the Crisis Nursery Committee, especially Nancy Ross, Jennifer Zaban, and Donna Bodkin for their efforts in planning this wonderful event, which was sold out. We also want to thank Kelly Golden and the staff from neapolitan for the beautiful fashions.  Proceeds from the "Shower of Hope" benefit the Crisis Nursery.
 
Center for Children Fundraiser  - May 19, 2010
Sorrento's Restaurant on Mannheim Road in Melrose Park hosted a fundraiser for Maryville. WJJG AM radio broadcasted live from the restaurant. A portion of the proceeds were donated to the Crisis Nursery and the Children's Healthcare Center. We would like to thank Sorrento's, their friends and family, Joe Gentile and John Divita and everyone at WJJG, and all the friends of Maryville and their staff for making this evening possible.

Jim Jaskoske Memorial Golf Outing  - June 14, 2010
The Chicagoland Shell Retailers 16th Annual Jim Jaskoske Memorial Golf Outing was held at the beautiful Ivanhoe Club on Monday, June 14th.  More than 90 friends of Shell Oil and Maryville enjoyed a great day of golf.  A dinner reception and auction followed, with all proceeds benefiting the children of Maryville.  Special thanks go to the 2010 Chairs:  John Kyle (North Shore Shell), Rob Razowsky (Rmarts LLC), and Mark Osiecki (Shell Oil Products US) for their tireless efforts in making this event a success, and for their kindness to the children in our care.


Maryville Boat Cruise Fundraiser  - June 23, 2010
More than 120  alumni, employees and friends braved thunderstorms and tornado warnings to board The Spirit of Chicago for our  Boat Cruise off Navy Pier on Wednesday, June 23.  The game voyagers were rewarded with a fantastic evening, capped off by an out-of-this world sunset over the city's skyline, a breathtaking rainbow to the east and a spectacular fireworks display as we docked.   The cruise included dinner, dancing, libations, auction and raffle prizes, with all proceeds benefiting the children of Maryville.  Special thanks go out to Maryville's staff and volunteers who helped to make the event a great success.
The event was a sellout but not a wash-out.

 
Maryville/IPGA Gleason Cup Invitational   - July 19, 2010
We had a great day Monday (7/19) for the 16th Annual Maryville/IPGA Gleason Cup Invitational at Evanston Golf Club. More than  107 friends of Maryville particepated in the IPGA Past Champions Clinic before enjoying an afternoon of golf.  The evening festivities included a reception with live and silent auction, and the presentation of awards.   All proceeds from the event benefited Maryville's Golf Program, which teaches deserving children lessons that stretch beyond the golf course, such as work ethic, responsibility, and respect for others.  Thank you to Mike Rourke, who chaired the event committee, and to all the Maryville staff and volunteers who contributed to the success of this event.
